I started RCWigington after setting my goals for 2009 (not a resolution, a goal). It started simply enough: publish a photo in a major publication – or at least takes steps to start the process. The next question was, “Where do I start?” I sat and thought about it for a moment and decided that no one was going to put an unknown hobbyist in their magazine, so I decided to provide my own outlet. I also wanted to start writing again, and the blog started to present itself as the best option. I have big dreams for myself. I want to have a published photo – one of my pieces of “art” – in a major magazine (Think TIME), this space just gives me a place and an audience to practice on.
I was born in Marietta, GA to wonderful parents who have influenced, inspired, and helped me to become the person I am today. I have a little brother who dwarfs me. I also have a wonderful girlfriend (I call her, The Old Lady, or the GF) who pushes me to be better, she is also my best friend. My friends are the best and I learn something from each one of them. They are true originals (I will introduce you to many of them later).
What I Like: Music, Movies, Photography, Sports, Sports Photography, Design, things that explode, cooking, Christianity (History and Faith – very interesting), working (I love my new job – Product Manager – always a new challenge), “LOST”, “The Office”, video games, Georgia Southern University, baseball hats and maybe a little Beer.
To summarize, I enjoy things that present a challenge, mentally or physically, things that are smart and clever, and things that bring me comfort or look cool. I guess you could say that I enjoy things that are generally awesome.
What I don’t like: I really try to block out the things that I don’t like. I’m not denying the existence of these things. But one thing does come to mind: I don’t like tattoos. I don’t care if you have them, they don’t bother me on you, but they’re just not for me.
I’ll try most anything (that’s legal) once. I am working on doing new things and putting more of myself to become more accessible to others. I am continually working on new ideas and articles. And I’m always taking more photos (part of my new life plan, remember?). So, thanks for visiting.
I’ll keep it fresh, you keep reading.
Why not SI?
You’re so pretentious.
They ARE owned by the same parent company…
I better be introduced in that friend business you were talking about! Just saying
how bout Playboy?
I love you forever, like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.
What about the discussion we had concerning the things you don’t like? I can’t believe tattoos won out over housework.
Tell me more! Tell me more!
love the blog, photos, pretentious magazine goals, and hatred of tattoos
This is absolutely great!! I was visiting Double B and she introduced me to your blog. I’ve been reading for hours…and trust me…I’ve become quite the Grandma, so staying up reading your blog until 2:30 in the AM, even on a Friday night, is quite a feat for me!!
Kudos, my friend! This makes me miss you a lot, but very happy to know you!! Keep it coming because I’ll keep reading!
After you have demonstrated your talent for writing, I’m sure a major publisher will want to make a book of your blog. I enjoy reading what you write. Perhaps you can use some of your interests as categories. Or you can blog about the journey to the altar.
